The real ties that bind

Although I am very sypathetic to those who want to secede from the Red States, I don't think anyone has quite gotten the divisions right. Though I got a good laugh out of it, I don't want to become part of Canada as Barry Ritholtz suggests (Jesusland and Canada).

And in fact, although I like visiting, I don't feel too much affinity for Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, or the upper Midwest.

I propose the creation of Pizzaland, composed of territories within the former USA that have good pizza. The exact borders will be a legitimate point of discussion. But for now, the rough outlines of Pizzaland include everything from Massachusetts to Maryland. Obviously, how far west Pizzaland goes will also be a hot topic. Especially for those living in Pittsburgh.

I just added up the votes of the big Bush victory in the Confederate States of America. He won by 5.7 million votes (20.9 to 15.2). Kerry squeaked out a victory in United States by 2.2 million (41 to 38.8). We should have let them go!!!

It's not the red and blue thats the problem. We can deal with that. It's the gray that's the problem. Always has been!

Mattomega,
Your opinions are welcome. But, riddle me this: aside from tradition, what are the compelling reasons for the U.S. to remain in its current form? The red states feel we are holding them back from being a Christian nation, and the blue states feel that the red states are turning the country too far right. We are both correct. We are deadlocked. And if the red states continue to get more power, where does it leave us blue states? Stuck with a bunch of laws, policies, and tax codes that make us miserable.
